Delicate, brightly colored, and charming – all of these words describe “theorem painting,” an art form popular in early America which uses stencils to create images on fabric. On Saturday, October 14, from 10:00 am to noon, the museum will host a theorem painting workshop all about this lovely craft. The program includes a brief history of theorem painting. Participants will learn about the techniques of painting with stencils and create a theorem picture to take home, suitable for framing. Participants should wear old clothing or a smock as the paints are oil based. The workshop is open to anyone 14 years and older. Registration is required; the fee is $15. Please call the museum at 908-232-1776 or email millercorymuseum@gmail.com to register or for further information.
